Static analysis reveals no dangerous functions, all SQL queries utilize prepared statements, and all outputs are properly escaped. The absence of file operations and external HTTP requests further reduces potential attack vectors. Crucially, the plugin has no recorded vulnerabilities, including critical or high-severity CVEs, which suggests a history of secure development and maintenance.\n\nHowever, there are areas of concern. The plugin lacks any nonce checks or capability checks across its entry points. While the attack surface is small (two shortcodes) and currently has no unprotected entry points, the absence of these fundamental security mechanisms means that if any of the shortcodes were to become susceptible to injection or unauthorized execution in the future, there would be no built-in protection against such attacks. The lack of taint analysis results might indicate either no flows were analyzed or no relevant flows were found, but a complete absence of taint analysis can sometimes mask potential vulnerabilities.\n\nIn conclusion, 'url-shortcodes' v1.2 benefits from good coding practices regarding SQL and output handling, and a clean vulnerability history. The primary weakness lies in the omission of nonce and capability checks, which is a significant oversight in WordPress plugin security. While the current known risk is low due to the limited attack surface and lack of historical issues, this deficiency represents a potential future risk if the plugin's functionality were to evolve or be exploited.",[168,171],{"reason":169,"points":170},"Missing nonce checks",10,{"reason":172,"points":170},"Missing capability checks","2026-03-16T18:27:06.974Z",{"wat":175,"direct":181},{"assetPaths":176,"generatorPatterns":178,"scriptPaths":179,"versionParams":180},[177],"\u002Fwp-content\u002Fplugins\u002Furl-shortcodes\u002Furl_short_codes.php",[],[],[],{"cssClasses":182,"htmlComments":183,"htmlAttributes":184,"restEndpoints":185,"jsGlobals":186,"shortcodeOutput":187},[],[],[],[],[],[188,189],"[url_base]","[url_template]"]
