Caches contain short-term copies of the results of expensive database lookups or computations, and allow software to use the copy rather than repeating the expensive operation. This plugin (like other object-caching plugins) extends WordPress’s caching subsystem to save those short-term copies from page view to page view. WordPress’s cache happens to be a memoization cache.

Without a persistent object cache, every WordPress page view must use your MariaDB or MySQL database server to retrieve everything about your site. The absence of any identified AJAX handlers, REST API routes, shortcodes, or cron events significantly limits the plugin's attack surface. Furthermore, the code demonstrates good practices by not using dangerous functions, all SQL queries employ prepared statements, and output is properly escaped. The plugin also avoids external HTTP requests and performs no file operations that would typically raise concerns regarding data integrity or unauthorized access.

The vulnerability history is clean, with no recorded CVEs, indicating a lack of publicly known security flaws. The taint analysis also reveals no issues with unsanitized paths. However, it's worth noting the absence of nonce and capability checks. While this is mitigated by the minimal attack surface, it could become a concern if functionality were to be added in the future without proper authorization checks.

Overall, "tribe-object-cache" v1.0.4 appears to be a secure plugin. Its strengths lie in its minimal attack surface and adherence to secure coding practices regarding SQL and output handling. The lack of vulnerabilities in its history further reinforces this assessment. The only area for potential improvement, albeit a minor one given the current state, would be the inclusion of nonces and capability checks for any future functional expansions.",[147,150
No nonce checks found",5
No capability checks found","2026-03-16T21:10:53.436Z
[],[],[],[
[],[],[],[],[],[]]
