So at some point on each page (that is, between each

tag) you need to add a tag to let the plugin know what number the footnotes on this page should start at. To do this, you can either simply insert the exact same text as you did the first time and the identifier should simply reference the previous note. Alternatively, if you don’t want to do all that typing again, you can construct a footnote like this:
((ref:1))
and the identifier will reference the footnote with the given number.

Even though it’s a little more typing, using the exact text method is much more robust. The number referencing will not work across multiple pages in a paged post (but will work within the page). It demonstrates excellent adherence to secure coding practices by utilizing prepared statements for 86% of its SQL queries and ensuring 100% of its outputs are properly escaped. The presence of nonce and capability checks on its entry points, coupled with the absence of dangerous functions, file operations, and external HTTP requests, further contributes to its security. However, the taint analysis reveals two flows with unsanitized paths, which are flagged as high severity. While there is no historical vulnerability data, these taint flows represent a significant area of concern that needs immediate attention. The overall security is good, but the identified high-severity taint flows are a critical weakness that undermines the otherwise robust implementation.",[275,278
High severity unsanitized paths in taint analysis",15
Moderate percentage of SQL without prepare","2026-03-16T22:44:56.858Z
[284,285,286,287],"/wp-content/plugins/citation-reference-manager/assets/css/tooltip.css","/wp-content/plugins/citation-reference-manager/assets/js/tooltip.js","/wp-content/plugins/citation-reference-manager/assets/css/src.css","/wp-content/plugins/citation-reference-manager/assets/js/src.js",[],[285,287],[291,292,293,294],"citation-reference-manager/assets/css/tooltip.css?ver=","citation-reference-manager/assets/js/tooltip.js?ver=","citation-reference-manager/assets/css/src.css?ver=","citation-reference-manager/assets/js/src.js?ver=
[297],"citebox",[],[300],"data-uuid",[],[303],"citekitAjax",[305,306,307],"[cite]","[tooltip]","[bibliography]
"http://localhost/api/plugins/citation-reference-manager/bundle",404,"no bundle for this plugin yet
[314,319,326
"https://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/citation-reference-manager/tags/3.0.0/",[],"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?old_path=%2Fcitation-reference-manager%2Ftags%2F2.0.0&new_path=%2Fcitation-reference-manager%2Ftags%2F3.0.0",[
"2.0.0","https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/citation-reference-manager.2.0.0.zip","https://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/citation-reference-manager/tags/2.0.0/",[],"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?old_path=%2Fcitation-reference-manager%2Ftags%2F1.0.0&new_path=%2Fcitation-reference-manager%2Ftags%2F2.0.0",[
"1.0.0","https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/citation-reference-manager.1.0.0.zip","https://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/citation-reference-manager/tags/1.0.0/",[],[]]
